Well, I know that all our lives here must be incredibly thrilling and full of angst and adventure ... or maybe not. Mine isn't, anyway But once in a while, there are moments when something goes right (or drastically wrong) and we just want to, well, share it. So - ta da! Gloat about your triumphs, moan about your misfortunes or just give general updates on what's up with you ;D Let me start: I'm leaving for school camp tomorrow, which has upset me greatly. We're going a few hours into nowhere to hike. Oh, joy. Strangely, I'm looking forward to it (sort of), but I know from past experience that this will promptly cease after a day's worth of no hot water. I have a goal, though - to convert fellow campers into phans (and hopefully RCers!). Trust me, on the bus home, everybody will be singing the title song ::crosses fingers and prays like crazy:: The day after I get back, I have better news. I'm going to see Les Mis! ::jumps and squees:: Unfortunately this means I have to forego doing this French oral exam I qualified for, but I figure that the French will be around next year. Les Mis probably won't come over my side of the country for a few decades Besides, Les Mis is cooler than French exams. It just is. And we've got awesome seats. So, I'll see y'all in eight days suffering great Internet withdrawal symptoms ::shudder:: and jumping around in anticipation of seeing "the musical that swept the world"! Now, what's up with you?

Well, I recently got back from Choir camp which i was absolutely dreading, but it actually ended up being quite enjoyable. I learned a lot about the other choir members including the fact that most of them are Phans! We were all singing "masquerade " on the way back ;D! Anyway, not much else going on here. The teachers are on strike here, so i'm basically just hanging around at home. It's a good opportunity to watch POTO a million times, though...

That sounds so cool, Jaycee Don't you just love discovering phans? Anyway ... I'm BACK! And I have to admit that camp wasn't all that bad ::hates being wrong:: Well, apart from the hiking parts. But the rest of it was focused on indigenous Australian culture, which was the bomb. I officially have no more pimples on my face thanks to the lovely, lovely bush medicine we got taught about ::parties:: Although ... my hair is like an oil slick, my lips are chapped beyond belief, I'm surprised my legs still have blood in them they were bitten that many times, I've got dirt that's probably permanently ingrained into my skin and fingernails and my hands are lacerated from making rope. Hmph. Interesting note: I learned some new language. Useful phrases such as "Youse a deadly youga", which apparently means "You're a cool young woman", and "Too mudich!", which means "Amazing". But the best part was getting totems, which are different for everyone. A totem is like a living spirit that you have a special natural connection with and you have to protect, because you have the same characteristics. I got the wilena, or splendid wren, because it's the first to start singing and is at its most beautiful in song. I was so flattered ... but I didn't realise I sang that much on camp! Unfortunately I couldn't convert as many phans as I hoped to. I got one, but she's now EC. Although I recited the story to a group of people while we were out getting bush chilli. And I discovered a fellow musical theatre fanatic, although she's more of a Les Mis person. But I successfully got 'Do You Hear The People Sing' stuck in numerous people's heads, so I was quite proud. Meep. Long post ::hides:: EDIT: I don't know why, but for some reason I seem incapable of replying to my own post. I worship the edit button Anyway, just though I'd give you the heads up on how Les Mis was - it was great! No revolving stage, unfortunately, but hey - it was just our little lowly theatre. The cast was good (even if Marius was, well, odd-looking) - Fantine was wonderful and moved everybody to tears ... even my dad, which is saying something Although I wasn't too crazy about Cosette's voice in general, her highest notes were just beautiful. But I must say that Javert had a gorgeous voice and Jean Prouvaire was just gorgeous

Thanks, Lotte And I'm off for nearly two weeks as of tomorrow. It's finally summer holidays (YAHOO!) so therefore my family is heading off to the default holiday site for West Australians ... Rottnest Island ;D So basically, two weeks of swimming, lying on beaches, cycling, playing mini-golf and watching movies at the hopelessly old (but hopelessly cool) cinema. Someone please shake me. I'm excited about going to a place where quokkas litter in the roads, there are no computers and I'll be forced to listen to my sister's CD collection non-stop, as we are only taking one stereo. But, hey. We've been going since I was eight, we always have a blast, so I'll see you guys later (unless I manage to sneak a few last posts in)!

Hee hee ;D. I am in a very, very good mood right now for a few reasons.
Reason 1: My school recently had a vocabulary bee. I WON ;D. I took a written test afterwards, and if I get enough questions right on the written test (I'll get my results in a few weeks), I'm going to State Finals in March!
Reason 2: My school recently had a Challenge Fair. I entered a poem I wrote about POTO, and a Romeo and Juliet project I did (I wrote it as a kid's story). My POTO poem got third place, and my Romeo and Juliet project won second place!
Reason 3: I'm going to Miami next Friday! *happydance*

I think that definitely counts as reasons to be very, very happy. Congrats on your vocabulary bee and Challenge Fair success ;D And have fun in Miami!

That's so cool! I'd love to be in Miami right now. Actually I'd love to be anywhere hot.....maybe Mexico! Like my evil abandoning father (sorry, it'll be a while before i get over this one...). On the plus side i can now watch POTO without worrying about My tone deaf father singing along And I've had plenty of oppounities to watch it seeing as i've been home sick all week! My sister has decided that i must be dying because i fell asleep during the final lair scene in poto...it is rather strange...normally I'd be glued o the screen giving murderous glares to anyone who dared to talk...

I have awesome news that I'd like to share with my R/C friends.
I mentioned that I won the Vocabulary Bee at my school in an earlier post. Well, I recieved a letter on Saturday, and....
I'M GOING TO STATE FINALS ;D!!!
I can't wait- the state finals are in Orlando, on March 20. If I go on to national, and win that, I'll win a $50,000 scholarship!
I am just so happy about this- words can't describe how I feel.

I still can't believe I survived last night. My sister had her birthday party and let me tell you, ten screaming 12 year olds in the middle of my house is not pretty sight. Add the fact that they had way too much sugar and...well, I'll just let you imagine the gory details. I spent most of the night hiding in my room making hopeless attempts at calming down the traumatized cat.

You think screaming 12-year-olds are bad, Jaycee? You've obviously never experienced screaming 6-year-olds. My brother's friend came over last night....So much for a nice, quiet night in my room. The neighbors actually came over and asked if the kids could be a little more quiet. I had to turn up my stereo ten times louder than usual just so I could hear Indina Menzel. And thanks for the congratulations, folks .

Je suis vraiment passionnante parce que ... JE VAIS ALLER EN FRANCE!
Nah, I'm not hyped at all. I just happen to be going to France for three weeks and I leave in thirty-six days. I'M PSYCHED!
It's a school trip where we spend a week in Nice doing intensive French lessons, a week in Aix-les-Bains doing a homestay and going to French school and finally a week in Paris where we go sight-seeing. (And I don't care what anybody says, we're going to the Palais Garnier. And Notre Dame. And the Louvre) J'attends avec impatience!
I just hope my French is up to it. I'm really scared that I'll mortally offend someone by accidentally calling them tu instead of vous.
SQUEE!

Hehe, I'll do my best I read somewhere that the Palais Garnier won't ever sell box five, even for the ballet performances there today. Isn't that cool?

Wow, Angel! Nothing can compare to France, but Disney is exciting, too! I'm going there for spring break, in 2 weeks. We're going to Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and Animal Kingdom. I can't wait to go on the new coaster at Animal Kingdom, Expedition Everest. I worship roller coasters, especially gi-normous ones like Everest ;D.

Sounds like you'll have fun, Lotte! Okay, I'm just hyper beyond all hyper now. Firstly, I went to see Madam Butterfly last night, which was just amazing (and so sad!), and it's my birthday tomorrow! (It's my sweet sixteenth ) On top of this, it's ten sleeps until I go to France ... my friends and I have been counting. Who needs coffee when you have adrenaline?

Happy B-day, Angel! And you must be so excited about france! My life is ...not nearly so exciting. I've been sick all week and last night my dad had a party with all his friends from work, and I think there were quite a few drunk people downstairs.

hey jaycee! that's awesome! i wish my school could put it on... however, i don't believe the rights to it have been released? is your school doing the whole production, a take on it, or just bits and pieces? because if they're doing the whole production... it's slightly illegal lol just thought you should be aware...
