I haven't been on in ages, either, Lotte ... I don't think anybody has Have a great time on your holidays! I'm so jealous -- my exams start next week, so I'm up to my ears in studying. So not my ideal way to spend my time I cannot wait for the end of the year. No more school forever! (Until university, of course ... but I don't want to spoil my daydreams )

Ah, man it's late, but I kinda missed this site...I, like most everyone else here, haven't had the time to go on because of school, and school related stuff...but I just graduated from high school, and I'm going to try to make the most of it before it's time for me to head off for college! Besides graduating, my mom actually found the musical of Cats on Amazon . com, so I get to see it for the first time!! (I know, I'm so deprived! XD ) Of course, my ultimate goal is to be as lucky as all of you great people and have the opportunity to see them all on stage! (Cats, PotO, etc.) ...::sigh:: Man, sometimes, my life's kinda boring. But it's all good.

Ah, we all have boring lives at some point, Hi-chan. Congrats on finally getting to see Cats, BTW. Sorry about you having your exams, Angel- but I'm actually kind of jealous of you! Since I have no life, that equals nothing to do in summer. I'm wishing for school already....That's really, really sad. *shudders* My friend Kori is lucky, she's in London right now. She has no idea how jealous I am of her. I do have my Miami trip coming up, so that'll be a blessing. And I'll have plenty to keep me busy down there- mainly comforting my dear friend Sofia, who's lived down there her whole life and is now moving to Georgia. Sofia has been emailing me constantly asking for advice, and she sounds so miserable! (Frankly, though, I do not blame her- I felt the same way when I moved away.)

Well, ladies, it's been an interesting past while First of all... I've graduated! Can I get a HALLELUJAH?! I also got Top Mark in my Musical Theatre class (eeee!) and two Theatre Scholarships!! Ohh man, it feels good. Second of all... I might have myself a boy looooong story short: He went with me to prom, it was very, very romantic... we continued to talk on MSN while he was back in his hometown, and now he's back and it's wonderful! So yes... life has been fun -Em

Wow, great to hear it, Em! (HALLELUJAH! Only ... five more months until I join you in post-school bliss!) And well done on your marks and scholarships! How awesome! After exams, I'm sitting on all As, which is a nice feeling. (Yep, even an A for Chemistry. Just. An A is 74% and up, and I'm on 75% ) But I am topping Ancient History and Drama, which is kind of cool. (Even if drama is by, like, half a mark.) And congrats on ya boy, as well Anyway, as for me ... I'm kind of hyperventilating, firstly because winter break is in four days, and secondly, because I've got an audition coming up for a regional performance scholarship for this amazing Shakespeare company. I only found out about it on short notice, though, so now I'm madly trying to learn my monologue (Imogen from Cymbeline). So, that's in just over a week, so wish me luck! Hope everyone else is having an absolute whale of a time!

Not that I'm counting or anything, but there's only 58 days left before I am free from high school forever ... it's so close, but yet, so dang far! It's actually really cheesing me off, for want of a stronger expression I'm sorry, but I just need to rant a little. I am just so, so over school and so, so over assignments and in-class essays and tests and exams and certain authors who really need to realise that the full stop is your friend whose names begin with V and end with irginia Woolf. (Yeah ... we're studying To The Lighthouse in English Literature, and it's like Chinese water torture. I mean, the book is very well written and deep and meaningful and symbolic ... but it is sadly lacking a plot.) Anyway, but in happier news, I did the practical component of my mock exam for Drama and actually did a lot better than I thought. As part of the course, we have to write our own 5-7 minute original solo production (or OSP, as it's affectionately known ) and perform it as the main part of our practical exam. It can be about anything we like. (Mine's about Anne Boleyn.) Anyway, I have worked my ... bottom ... off on this OSP for the past eight weeks, and ... I got 95% on it! (And as it's marked out of twenty, I was only one mark off a perfect score!) So I'm quite happy So, anyway. Regardless of Drama happiness, I'm still hanging out for 12:31pm on the fifteenth of November. Because that's when my last exam ever finishes!

Hello, my feable few I come bearing good tidings of great news... or... something like that. You're all familiar with the fact that Don Juan Triumphant as seen in POTO is actually a copy of Mozart's Don Giovanni opera, yes? Well. Guess who gets to be part of that opera. On the National Arts Center stage. GUHBUHHHHH. Someone PINCH me! I play one of the Don's past lovers, and before you ask, it is a non-singing, non-speaking role that our director is choosing to include... I will be perched on a balcony onstage the entire time except for particular moments of action... such as pushing Don Giovanni into his Hell! I also get to interact directly with the Don during the Overture, the opening scene of the opera. And by directly, I mean... DIRECTLY. I _am_ a past lover, after all... Keep in mind that the man playing Don Giovanni has sung this role at the METROPOLITAN OPERA. Again, someone PINCH me... or do I really want to wake up?

ARGH, I'm so frustrated... You all should be lucky you don't live in southern California right now, cause all these fires are driving me crazy. DX A little too much action going on here with a huge fire in every major county in SoCal, including one that's fairly close to my university. It really sucks. The only good thing that's happening currently is that I'm getting used to my life at the University of Redlands, and my old high school's marching band, which my sister is a part of, is starting off the season kicking butt. ^_^ Well, also, I was talking to a friend the other day and she was telling me it would be nice to round up a bunch of people and a lot (a whole lot) of money to go see "Wicked" while it's still in L.A. ...but I don't think it's happening. -_- I wish it would, I'd go see it in an instant!

OMG Em, I am sooo jealous of you right now! Don Giovanni is such a fantastic show, and it sounds like you're going to have a lot of fun with your part! Break a leg!

*glances at date of last post* Shoot. I've been gone a really long time, haven't I? Anyone still remember me? Anyone at all? *silence*
Just kidding. I haven't been anywhere lately, matter of fact. My life has been sort of crappy lately. Suffice to say that the last time I remember my mother crying as hard as she's been doing lately was when my Aunt Beth died.
At any rate, I have a distraction from my family issues in the form of Annie! It's a pretty small cast, which is rare for the place it's at, so I'm doing several things. I help out with the younger kids, work on costumes, and also have three chorus parts. Rehearsals are only three hours, so things get kind of hectic. But I love it...Annie was one of the first shows I ever saw.
Em, congratulations on your role in Don Giovanni! I can only imagine what it would be like to interact with someone who has sung at the Metropolitan Opera.

Of course we remember you, Lotte! *hugs her* It seems everyone's been really busy this year ... I'm really sorry to hear about you going through some tough times. I do hope that things will start looking up for you and your family soon. But it is great to hear that you're in a production right now -- Annie's a fun show. It sounds like a distraction is just what you need, and I'm sure that this will suffice more than nicely! One of my friends just finished up a production of Annie (she played Lily) and she had a ball with it. (I remember that the first show I ever saw was Oliver!, but I think Annie came pretty soon after that, so, yeah. Sentimental value )

I remember you, Lotte, dear I agree with Angel, Annie is precisely what the doctor ordered for you As for interacting with Met Opera stars? I've been having mixed experiences. Our Don Giovanni has performed there once, and his head is so big it's surprising that he doesn't fall over. Seriously. Picture Gaston from BatB, and that's him. But the others (which, I would learn, involves pretty much all of the soloists minus one or two) are all unbelievably down to earth and real. Maria Knapik and Wendy Nielsen have been real inspirations to me And Valerian Ruminski is just a cool guy. In relation to that... OPENING NIGHT IS TONIGHT!! I am THRILLED. You know, I might just start a thread about DG, because I have so many pictures to share with you all, and I'm going to have more as we have more performances

Ah, I suppose there will always be people like that in productions. Not that I'll mention any names from Annie. Of course not. And it's CERTAINLY not a particular fellow chorus member, who thinks she deserves to play every leading role in the show and Sandy too. Definitely not. But most everyone else is wonderful, especially our Bonnie Boylan. She's been in so many shows, and has had a lot of leading roles, but she's so modest about it. And our Annie is an absolute fireball of star quality and talent. (Also, I doubt she'll be in need of a microphone. The girl can sing well and sing LOUD.)

*whines like a wounded puppy* I miss this site so much...T.T But hardly anyone comes on anymore...it's so sad to come on here and see that the last post was in November 2007 when it is now April 2008... At this point, I'm just typing this to make myself feel better...perhaps...I'm almost positive that no one will be reading this anytime soon, so at this point I'm just rambling to myself. Anyway... My first piece of info is that I've finally seen Phantom of the Opera on stage. : ) I'm about a million years behind everybody else, but oh well. The date I saw it was March 29 2008 (it was a Saturday afternoon showing), at the Orange County Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa, CA. I was completely blown away...by everything... : D I would like to go into more detail, but since I'm basically preaching to the choir, I don't think I will at this point. My second piece of info is that I am going to Europe this summer. We're going to visit London, Edinburgh, and Paris (and when we come back over to North America, we may be visiting either Montréal or Vancouver, or both before coming back to Southern California...) So, I'm looking forward to that greatly (and I'm going to hope that my French is at least good enough to ask for directions...) Also, I'm almost finished with my first year of college. (w00t) I have finals this week, and then a break, and then a short term of an extra class (we call it "May Term" because it's in May), and then I'm out at the end of May, around the 23, which is the earliest I've ever been out of school. In elementary, jr. high and high school, we got out in June... Anyway, no sense in speaking to nobody so I may as well wrap this up. I only wrote it because I miss this site and it's depressing coming on here everyday and seeing nobody posting...

Um ... site necromancy, anyone? Hello? *echoes...* Yeah ... I randomly check this site when the whim strikes me ... it's been one heck of a long time ... but the times we had were good, right? Anyway. My life is actually going pretty well at the moment, and I'm going to have a little squee about it Read if you want... Firstly, POTO actually came to my city. Gasp! Secondly, Anthony Warlow is playing the Phantom. Double gasp! Thirdly, I saw it last week. That man is Mr Vocal Chocolate. He is incredible. Love, love, love, love, love!Secondly, since the beginning of last year, I've been studying classical music at a performing arts university, specialising in voice It's hard work, but good work. I also did a one-year music theatre course there last year, so now I officially have qualifications in MT. I like that Thirdly, I'm going show-mad. In December, I did my first paying production -- playing a female Tranio in The Taming of the Shrew, which was sooo much fun (and very interesting). Right now, we're five weeks away from opening night with a production of Romeo & Juliet, in which I play Balthasar, Romeo's page (the one who tells him that Juliet's dead and manages to fall asleep in the churchyard while attempting to spy on Romeo. Silly boy.) But after that, the real fun begins -- I get to play Abigail in The Crucible, which is one of my ultimate dream roles, and after that, Cosette in Les Mis in a semi-pro production in a fancy theatre with tons of publicity. I absolutely cannot wait! A good friend of mine is playing Marius ... I don't know whether that's going to make things easier or more awkward If we have to kiss standing up, it'll be awkward on another level -- he's almost a foot taller than me! Anyway, if anyone actually comes on here and reads this ... I'll be both shocked and stoked. It would be kind of nice if people came back ... although I'm not optimistic, honestly. Sigh. Too bad. Angel, signing out for now. Unless someone replies...

*Replies back* Hey all ~ ^^ (or whoever bothers to read this...whichever comes first, I guess...) I'm glad I'm not the only one that misses this forum. I went back to look at some of our dropped discussions...good times. I guess the only big thing I've got going is I can take more shows off of my "Shows To See Live On Stage" list. I saw finally saw "CATS" back in December, and I saw "Rent" just last week. ^^ We're going to see "Avenue Q" for my sister's birthday (because she really wants to go...meh, I really don't care...). I had another chance to see "PotO" again back in February, but I let the opportunity get away from me. >.< Rats. It's cool though, because this way it doesn't wreck my ideal of my second time seeing it in London (my ultimate goal! And the perfect excuse to go back to London, because it's the coolest place in the world. ) ...I feel as though this post is pointless, but I'm still waiting for the day we can bring this site back for good. Because it needs to come back. Until then, I'm just gonna keep randomly posting like this. XD
