Ah, how I adore this movie. I saw it for the first time a few months ago and am still very much in love with it. I know there's others out there who adore it to bits, and still others who hate it. It's actually the first movie I've seen where it's so "black-or-white" about whether one liked it or not. Even though my inner history buff was screaming bloody murder throughout the first half of my first time seeing it (the music, the clothes... it took me forever and a day to understand that they did that on purpose. and now i love it!), the last half had me in tears. Absolute, raw, painful tears. I've never seen a movie with the same effect... not even POTO the first time I saw it. So what did you guys think? I know there are a handful of common interests among Phantom fans (including LOTR, Harry Potter, Jane Austen, Wicked, and Christianity, apparently), and Moulin Rouge is definitely one of the most common. Poor, poor Christian...

I love that movie.
I remember seeing it for the first time a few years ago after a friend wouldn't stop singing 'Elephant Love Medley', and I was just ... wow. With tears streaming down my face, naturally. So, what do I do? Go out and buy the sheet music, play the songs over and over again, then watch it again a few days later.
But ... excuse me for a moment.
OMGSQUEEEEE! Ewan's voice is incredible! ::wubs::

It's definitely worth watching again, Jaycee, trust me. Lovely movie. The other day my friends and I went to this cinema which was completely out of our way (try forty-five minutes out of our way), but absolutely excellent (they served us hot chips during the movie) and so, in the car we were listening to Moulin Rouge and singing along ... really fun. One of my friends and I did Elephant Love Medley as a sort of duet thing with her as Satine and me as Christian ... except at times I had to take it up an octave Kinda ruined it, but oh well. Lady Marmalade was fun Also, what's everyone's favourite song from the movie? I love Ewan singing 'Your Song', although 'The Show Must Go On' is just so touching and sad, as is 'One Day I'll Fly Away'. Although I do absolutely adore 'Le Tango de Roxanne'. Mostly because of the way Ewan sings "It's more than I can stand!" Okay, I'll stop fangirling now, I swear!

This was lovely, passionate and original. Gorgeous to look at and a truly touching love story.
One of my favorite movies.

Oh my goodness! I ADORE this movie! Ewan and Nicole work so well together, and I love Ewan's voice! I can't help but wonder how much they had to pay in royalties to use all those different artists lyrics, because most of the lyrics were from other songs. 0_o. Anyone heard the original "Your song" by Elton John? I personally like Ewan's better. Hehe.

Ok, I just saw this movie again last night and I LOVED it! Wow, I don't think I've ever seen such a sad movie! But...now I know why I barely remember it. I was about 7 when I last saw it, which is really quite appalling, when you consider the themes...even worse is that my cousin, who was a year younger than me said it was her favourite movie. And I think she understood it better than I did, which is just weird. Anyway, now that I actually understand what happened, it's definitely one of my favourites, and usually I don't like sad movies.
