I think I mentioned this "little" (*coughcough*) project donkey's years ago on here ... but then I took it down because I wanted to rework it. Anyway, because this site seems to have slowed down a lot this year ( 
Please post, people!) I didn't think to mention that I'm back on track with it ... but if you're at all interested, I have an original story that I'm posting on FictionPress at the moment, and I think that some of you guys might like it.
The story is entitled All Roses Have Thorns and is set for the most part in the late 1860s/early 1870s in Château-Thierry, a town near Paris, in the French countryside. It follows a young woman named Geneviève Rochefort who takes up with an intriguing "man with a past" -- but the affair leaves her with a hopelessly skewed impression of love, which comes to taint her relationship with the man who adores her. And when her first love comes back, all she wants is to recapture the past, but she's about to learn that every story, every person -- everything has more than one side. Throw in her adorably arrogant brother, a couple of dark salons, a fair few drunken blunders, a Parisian rebellion and a whole lot of roses and you've basically got it.
Right now, there's a lot posted, but there's still a fair bit to come, so I'd really appreciate it if you took the time to have a look and tell me what you think either in a review on FictionPress, or right here on SYLM
