I noticed that when the ECs write alternate endings to the movie, it always seems to be Christine's choice to stay with Erik. I always wondered what would happen if he didn't let her go. If he forced her to stay with him, what do you guys think would have happened? Would Raoul have come back to rescue her? Let me know what you think...

That's interesting to think aout, Jaycee..I think Raoul probably would come back to try and save her. After all, that's why Christine said she'd stay with Erik, right? For Raoul, so he could live.

In my opinion, Raoul would not stand for having Christine be forced into marrying Erik. I'm certain that he thought he had two options: save her from him or die trying. Even if Erik let him go after Christine chose to stay so Raoul could live, I'm convinced that he'd still try and take her away. All or nothing. If you ask me, it's all in his lyrics.
"Say you love him and my life is over!" and "For pity's sake, Christine, say no!" and "Don't throw your life away for my sake!"
::tear:: So sweet ... I wish I had a guy who loved me that much ... ::waves 'Go Raoul!' banner::

He would rather die than have to live with out her!! *Swoon* This is one of the main reasons I love him so much! He is so self sacrifical... which is a major turn on if you ask me! *Hee hee*

I think we should write to all those magazines that have those random 'What to Look for in a Boyfriend' lists and tell them that he has to be willing to sacrifice his life for her! Hey, if it makes us swoon ...

I can just imagine what the magazine editors would say!
"What kind of a boyfriend is like that? You need to set your standards lower. This isn't the 18th century you know! "
That wold be hilarious.

I've no doubt they would say that. My E/C friend saw this and said that if she asked them to put Erik's qualities on there, they'd write, "What's a goth like you doing reading these girly teen mags?" I can see both in a mag like J-14 or M.

Hey, if it was good enough for Christine Oh, just imagine ... kills at random, manipulative, alternating superiority/inferiority complex ...
