I just have to share this with you guys. It's the original Steve Harley/Sarah Brightman title song music video, and it's an ... interesting experience. www.victorygo.pe.kr/you/music/class_mov/the_phantom_of_the_opera.wmvWhile I'm totally not loving her costumes, I love Sarah's vocal work on this. (Sadly, I can't say the same for Steve.) And if you ever wanted to see Mullet!Raoul, this is it. Oh. And the mask. Don't get me started on the mask. And the dodgy chandelier. Which I swear he cut down with a butterknife. I think it can be summed up in one, huge excuse: it was the eighties. |

Oh. That's really all i can say. I've only seen half of it so far, as my insanely slow computer is taking forever to download it but I think i've already got a pretty good idea of what it's like. I've actually already heard this version of the song. My dad has this cd with all ALW's best songs on it and although i like the songs, most (i said most) of the singers were extremely bad. In this song, I actually quite like Sarah Brightman's voice except for the high notes at the end. As for monsieur le phantom...well....I must say...his emotion on the "sing my angel of music" was pretty much non-existent. I would say that despite all the strange things going on in this clip, so far, what annoys me the most is the lyrics. I previously mentioned in another thread, that it bugs me when a version of anything is different from the first one i saw. And these lyrics are nothing like the ones in the movie. I Think they have maybe one or two verses that are the same and that just drives me crazy! (i know, I'm wierd) The mask was like...the last straw! Seriously... aren't we all glad it's not the eighties anymore?
OH! Almost forgot the par tthat I hate even more than the lyric change! RAOUL'S HAIR!!!!!!! Seriously! It's terrible! It's an insult to POTO! Seriously, if that clip wasn't so funny It would be...INSULTING!
Ok, the computer loaded a bit more of it and i have two more complaints...and by the time it loads the rest, i'll probably have even more. Anyway...why id she leave his lair? I've never heard of that being done in the story! And I may be wrong, but i don't think they had binoculars, did they?

Lol, I saw this music video this morning... But it's still pretty funny. *Very* funny. Miss Brightman does nice work in it, I'll admit. ...Though she usually does so. No shock there. It was the chandelier and the boat w/ the snake thing attached to it.  |

I saw this awhile ago, a friend of mine on another site sent me the link to it. Sarah Brightman did a great job, but I didn't like how Steve Harley seemed to just stop in the middle of sentences. (That could have just been my computer though it's been acting strange lately)
It was a pretty odd video, and I agree with Jaycee that Raoul's hair was...well it was a disgrace. In my opinion I think it made the guy portraying Raoul look weird. The lyric change was pretty annoying, but I liked it (some of it not all of it)
I'll stop ranting now and shut up.
