Hello ladies. I will now present, in as composed and calm a manner as possible, my feelings about this movie.
HOLY. FREAKING. CRAP. ;D
It's going to be incredible. Having done a little research on it... I have a feeling the winds of change are blowing strong. I may even become (if I haven't already) a Jack and Elizabeth shipper! *gasp* I know, I know, but I've thought it through, watched POTC: COTBP, watched the deleted scenes, and finally concluded that... it makes sense. Will is entirely too shy and bubbly and innocent for Elizabeth. Lizzie is rebellious, determined, and altogether Will's polar opposite. She's shown interest in pirates since she was a little girl, and if you watch the deleted scenes, you see that it's actually her that teaches Jack the "yo ho" song... and then he goes and sings it at the end! Jack himself, in one of the deleted scenes, admits that they're two peas in a pod. And he's vulnerable to her, too... admits the story about the island is false, and (again, in one of the deleted scenes) shows her his scars and says "no, there's no truth at all" sarcastically when she questions all the other tales.
Anyways, away from my rant on Jack and Liz, what are your thoughts on this movie? I know it's coming out this friday, is anyone going to see it? Perhaps in costume? Hahah, let me know if you do!

I'm going to see it, but not tomorrow, I'm going on Sunday, for my best friend's birthday. She and I are both absolutely in love with POTC, although, I'm more of a Will/Elizabeth shipper. NOt that I have a well thought-out logical reason like Em, I just think they make a cuter couple. Well, also, there's the fact that Jack seems destined to be a loner. Somehow I think a romance with Elizabeht would ruin his character. And he said himself that it would never work between them. Jack's hilarious, but I like Will better...probably because he reminds me of Raoul. Why must I compare EVERYTHING with POTO? I always manage to work it into every conversation no matter what the topic is.

I have now seen this movie twice ... and it is really good fun. I did like the first one better, although admittedly that was mostly because I prefer skeletons to slimy monsters. They're cooler. They just are. The first time I went, the cinema was completely packed and people yelled things at the screen ... that was fun. (At the very end, somebody found it necessary to yell "What the f***?", despite the multitude of kids ::shakes head in amusement: But, without giving too much away ... it's a really good, if a little complicated plot, and there are some awesome lines. I'm hard-pressed to choose my favourite out of: WILL: And this chest will help save Elizabeth? JACK: How much do you know about Davy Jones? WILL: Not much. JACK: ... Yeah, it's going to help save Elizabeth. and JACK: I've got a jar of dirt! I've got a jar of dirt! And I reckon Em will find some moments very ... satisfactory? (Unfortunately, I didn't go in costume. Some of the cinema staff were dressed up, but generally around my area, people don't dress up for movies. Very sad )

I'm incredibly jealous. ::pouts:: I totally wanna see this movie! We were actually supposed to see it this past weekend, but both my sister's and my marching band section leaders decided to have sectionals this weekend, hers on Saturday and mine yesterday (my sis plays the flute and I play the clarinet).
So, we have to go see it this weekend! We have summer school, so we can't see it during the week, unless we go after school, which isn't an option because we have all this homework...XP
Ahh...I really wanna see this movie.

I have now seen it twice as well, and it was incredibly awesome, although the ending was very cliffhangerish. And I'm ot so sure I like Elizabeth anyore. But Em was definitely on the right track in a way...there's an entire scene that asically describes exactly what she said.
P.S. Angel, the jar of dirt line was the best line in the world. Nothing beats the jar of dirt line. Althouh I was kind of embarassed because I was laughing for about five minutes after and nobody else laughed at all!

ENTIRE AUDIENCE: BwahahahahahahahaHAHAHA!Angel's Viewing #2:JACK: I've got a jar of dirt! I've got a jar of dirt! And guess what's in it? ANGEL: Bwahahahaha...REST OF THE AUDIENCE: ... ANGEL: Heh ... heh ... heh ... ahem. Talk about weird.

Hahah, I guess I should post now that I've seen it three times thus far... determined to break my record for the first one (7 times in 6 days... I figure I'll go for ten in a month).
Yes! The Jack/Elizabeth substance was perfect... I absolutely adored when she clung to his leg when he came back, the whole compass scene, and of course the scene that EVERYONE is talking about. Is that not the hottest onscreen kiss anyone has ever seen? And I don't say that often... what's weird is, it's _Disney_. Whoa.
Overall, it was good, "captivating" as my friend put it... but I couldn't help thinking "geez, this isn't the same old Disney anymore". The captain and crew of the Flying Dutchman made me nauseous at least once. And was the scene with the torture castle or whatever it was (a bird picking out a guy's eye? Geez, Walt, you've really changed...) absolutely necessary?
The story substance, however, was absolutely delicious. The whole thing is setting up for the third film, which I know is going to be incredible. They can't go wrong with a powerful love triangle, bringing a man back to life, and Singapore! Also a new, darker Will. I actually rather enjoyed his darkening, because suddenly he wasn't so perfect anymore. The first scene with his father absolutely broke my heart.
It's funny, a lot of comparisons are being made about this movie. They're comparing it to Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back, and some are even comparing it to Phantom of the Opera! Think about it; with Star Wars, Jack is Han Solo, Will is Luke, Liz is Leia... and Gibbs is Yoda. Yes, Yoda. With Phantom of the Opera, the love triangle really has people thinking. Will has been made into Erik (the jealous man who rightly could have her at any moment), Liz into Christine, and Jack into Raoul... only thing is, people actually like Jack. So the hate goes from Jack's shoulders onto Liz... the people at IMDB are FURIOUS with her. It's really interesting, actually.
But yeah! So I'm planning to see it many more times... it's just so bloody entertaining!

Hmm. Agreed about the eye-pecking, Em. That was, well, uncalled for, IMO. But I'm just oddly squeamish about eyes. However, I didn't flinch once at the Flying Dutchman crew. A lot of my friends got really grossed out, but I was pretty fine with it, even if I wasn't very fond of all the sliminess. Meh. Interesting POTO comparison ... (can't comment on Star Wars, given that I've never seen it) ... although I would have instinctively compared Will to Raoul and Jack to Erik, just based on where Elizabeth's loyalties lie. I mean, I think it's pretty obvious she loves Will, but is seduced by the darker side of Jack. (Ooh, drama!) But anyway, I'm still hesitant to compare the two love triangles -- I'm not entirely sure how valid such a comparison would be. And I'll have to have a look over at IMDB ... that sounds entertaining I'd still like to see it again ... it's such good fun. And I maintain that this movie has fully realised the little-known fact that you can make anything ten times cooler if you make it roll. Yay bone cages! Yay random wheel! Wheeeeeee! Ahem. I hope you get to see it soon, Hi-chan. As sequels go, this one's awesome. To quote my friend, 'It's a difficult dilemma. You see, the first one was super-super-good, and this one's only super-good.'

Hah! Guess what I saw today!! ;D ;D Finally, and about time too. I've waited all week to finally see this movie and it was well worth it. ^_^ And, now I know why all of you liked that "jar of dirt" thing...that was pretty funny. The theatre was PACKED. We actually had to split up to find seats, so my parents sat close to the front, and my sister and I sat closer to the back (tho' I didn't mind...it's fun sitting at the back of the theater). I must say, I have never seen a movie theatre so packed before in my life. Here I am thinking "Hey, it's the matinee showing, it's Sunday, the movie's already been out for a little over a week, there will probably be only a light crowd." I could not have been any more wrong! Also, I saw our clarinet section leader from marching band, who was seeing the movie for the second time...I think she's lucky 'cause I will probably only see it this once. My parents don't like going to movies that often 'cause they say it's too expensive, and I don't drive yet...well, not like that matters either because I am currently broke. I just have to ask...did any one else stay until the end of the credits? That was the weirdest thing ever...! I despised Elizabeth with a burning passion. Three guesses why. I can't believe she did that to Jack!! That was messed up. What tripped me out the most however, was that there were so many parts where I was all like "Holy CRAP, this is a Disney movie??!" Even when we were in the car driving back home, my dad said, and I quote, "This movie is not for little kids. Yet, I saw a lot of kids in there..." End quote. Hi-chan's final statement: This may possibly be the best movie out this summer. I'll never know, because it's probably the only movie I'm seeing this summer... ^.^;;

Argh! I knew I should have stayed to the end of the credits! When I went to see the first one with my family, I forced them to stay to the very end and, even though there was something very cool there to see, they all hated me for the rest of the week. So asking to stay this time was probably not a good idea. I guess I'll just have to wait for it to come out on DVD now ... or go and see it again I'm glad you liked it, Hi-chan ... although I would agree with your dad about the 'not for kids' bit. Where art thou, wholesome Disney? (Not that I'm complaining in this instance, but still!)
