Who are your favourites in the world of music theatre? Discuss, squee, speculate and compare!
As for me, I'm a huge fan of Anthony Warlow; he's actually probably my all-time favourite singer. Such a gorgeous, rich voice ... his Enjolras is wonderful, and his Music of the Night is topped only by Crawford, for me. Honestly, just ... ::sigh::
Also, Lea Salonga and Sally Dexter. Two awesomely talented women. Dexter's Nancy in Oliver! is about as perfect as I could hope for.

I've been a big fan of Idina Menzel ever since I heard her on the Wicked soundtrack. Such a powerful voice, and it shows in songs like "No Good Deed." Not to mention her "Over the Moon" in Rent. She's amazingly talented.
I also love Howard McGillin (the Erik I saw on stage- he was just wow), Kristin Chenoweth, Bernadette Peters, and Anthony Rapp.

Ooh, I'd definitely agree with Kristin Chenoweth, Michael Ball and Sherie Rene Scott! Big luff for them Also adding Philip Quast. I'm going to have to respectfully disagree about Idina Menzel, though ... I've only heard her in Wicked, but she just didn't really do it for me. And if she continues to belt the way she does, then I'm concerned about how long she'll be able to do it ... that can't be good for her voice ...

-Kristin Chenoweth (she's my idol) -Michael Crawford (duh) -Michael Ball (especially on the OCR of Les Miserables. Beautiful) -Colm Wilkinson (although I do prefer him in Les Miserables than in PotO) -Lea Salonga (Pinoy Pride.) -Bernadette Peters (her Unexpected Song is awesome) -Rebecca Caine (lovely) -Sarah Brightman (crystalline tone, near-perfect technique, and beautiful to boot) -Norbert Leo Butz (Ooooh, especially in The Last Five Years!) -Patrick Wilson (amazing) -Idina Menzel (acting, not singing. I'm not a fan of her superbelt, but she's an AMAZING actress)

MEGAN HILTY. Good. Lord. I just saw her in Wicked, and holy geez, she may even be better than Kristin. And I'm not even exaggerating.
Kristin Chenoweth is my hero and always will be. Her line deliveries are always spot-on, and who can pull off Glitter and be Gay like she can? That's what I thought.
John Owen Jones. He IS my Phantom. Hugh is wonderful, of course, but JOJ just puts a spell on me...
Patrick Wilson. Besides Bocelli or Groban, is there any man out there with a more pleasant voice?
Shoshana Bean... her riffs, and when she really lets loose, send chills down my spine. She actually wasn't my favourite part of going to see Wicked, but she acted the part so well. That, and I have a feeling we would get along so well. Sarcastic like I am... and who else plays with Hannukah toys in their dressing room? That's right. Sho's a dork, and I love her for it.
Lea Salonga, merely for her beautiful, beautiful voice.
Norbert Leo Butz, because he simply IS Fiyero. He embodies the charisma, the chemistry... ahh.
