Do any of you guys have any furry friends? I have a cat and a dog. My cat is 17 years old, he's a total grouch and I'm pretty much the only person he likes. My dog is 9 years old, small black and insane. So how about you guys?

I definitely come from a family of animal lovers. I can't remember a time when we didn't have pets. At the moment, we have four dogs, two hermit crabs, three horses, a cat, dozens of goldfish and six koi. Unfortunately, our rabbit passed away, recently In the past, we've had budgerigars, other goldfish, another rabbit and two other hermit crabs. Yeah, I'll go into detail about them later, if anyone's interested, but I'm actually really interested in other people's pets. Great idea for a thread, Jaycee

Unfortunately my parents hate animals in the house so the most I've had was a hampster and that was a Christmas present. His name was Scabbers, and he lived for about 2 3/4 of a year...I miss him.
I also had fish...but that was a long time ago.
I do help take care of my best friend's dog and my next door neighbor's cat.

Hermit crabs? Wow...exotic!

Lol, exotic wouldn't really be the word I'd use to describe them ... they're actually rather common around where I live (Actually, they're my sister's, and they're quite boring. They sleep, nibble, sleep, roll around, sleep, bite your hand, sleep and occasionally stick their eyes out. Did I mention that they sleep?) But for some reason, we still love them.

Yeah...well they're not exactly rare where i live either, but I've never heard of people keeping them as pets.

Most of my friends have had them at some point ... it's like at some stage of your life, you have to have had pet hermit crabs or pet silkworms. A bit odd, but there you go. (Oh. I forgot about the silkworms. I lost count of how many we've had.)
I have a friend who has pet ducks in her backyard. That, I find a bit weird. Never had a dog, cat or any other 'normal' pet ... instead they have about twelve horses and three ducks.

My grandmother used to have ducks. But then her house was practically a farm. Two dogs, 3 horses, a bunch of ducks and chickens and a cat.
